This curry can be made with beef or lamb too. It tastes really good with bread. I tried it for the first time at an aunts house and promptly asked for the recipe. What I like about this dish is that it tastes very different from vindaloos. It is hard to come by Indian recipes for pork. Try it!
Ingredients
(6 people)
2 big onions
2 TBS ginger garlic paste
1 TSP full jeera(cumin seeds)
1 TSP garam masala
4 dry red Kashmiri chilies
2 TSP red chili powder
11/4 cup dark vinegar
2 TSP sugar
1 TBS oil
11/2 KG pork , bones in cut in pieces.
4 potatoes cut in big pieces
2 cups water
Salt to taste
Method
-Grind the first 8 ingredients into smooth paste
-Fry In oil till light brown
-Add The pork pieces and fry on medium to low flame for 20 minutes or till pork is almost dry
-Add potatoes and cook for 5 minute
-Put in pressure cooker, add 2 cups water and cook for 3 whistles and then 15 minutes on low flame.
-Taste for salt
-Serve with Pav. (bread)
